In Situ Chemical Oxidation using modified Fenton's Reagent (MFR) was selected to treat an active gasoline station contaminated with gasoline-related VOCs and BTEX.  The hydraulic conductivity was calculated to be approximately 10.66 feet per day.  The vertical target treatment interval for application of MFR ranged from 26-35 ft bgs.  The remediation schedule was expedited due to planned construction of a state highway through the property.  The focus of the ISCO treatment with MFR was the on-site groundwater and smear zone soil plume within the upgradient portion of the site.  Two injection events (Events I and II) were conducted within a 3 month time frame.  Thirty-two dual zone direct push injection points were conducted per event (64 total direct push locations) to inject 18,900 gallons of MFR into the targeted aquifer interval (26-35 ft bgs).  Two separate injection intervals were targeted (26-30 ft bgs and 30-35 ft bgs) within each direct push location to confirm that the ISCO MFR treatment was distributed equally throughout the 9 foot vertical column.  The radius of influence was estimated to be approximately 8-10 feet around each point and the direct push locations were positioned in an off set grid pattern.
